Dr. Dominika Kleinert-Baltsios has led the Zahnlounge since 2026, as a third-generation physician and together with her husband. Dentistry the way you would want it for your own family.

Our story

Three generations of medicine. One place in Zürich-Enge.

A family of physicians

Dominika Kleinert-Baltsios grew up in a family of physicians: her grandfather was a doctor, her parents are dentists, her father an oral surgeon, her mother a paediatric dentist. At home, medicine was not a job but a calling. And responsibility was not something you accept, but something you carry.

Twelve years under the microscope

Since 2013 she has worked exclusively with the surgical microscope: first in her parents’ practice, which she co-led for around ten years, then with a Master’s degree in endodontics. Thousands of root canal treatments later, her experience is what every recommendation rests on.

A place in Zürich-Enge

In 2026 she and her husband took over the Zahnlounge: a space built for exactly this kind of dentistry. Calm, warm, with oak and light, recognised in the Healing Architecture Award 2025. This is where specialised dentistry meets natural aesthetics.

A case that explains a lot
“If it were my tooth, I would try to save it.” A surgeon wanted to extract the tooth. The patient wanted a second opinion. The tooth is still there today.

This case is not the exception but the benchmark. Four things we commit to with every person. You may hold us to them.

Preserve before replace.

Nothing can replace your own tooth. So we first look at what can be preserved. Under the microscope, since 2013. And when a tooth cannot be saved, we tell you that just as clearly.

Say what is.

You receive both paths: preservation and the alternative, with prognosis, effort and costs. Decide at your own pace. Our recommendation belongs to your tooth and your health.

Natural, not done.

Beauty whose reference is your original. We only change what you wish to change, and in a way that suits your face. Results that look like you. Because you are best looked after in your own teeth.

Dr. med. dent. Dominika Kleinert-Baltsios, MSc

Tooth preservation and natural aesthetics

“I treat every tooth as if it were my own. And every smile so that it belongs to the person wearing it.”

Dr. Dominika Kleinert-Baltsios has worked under the surgical microscope since 2013: around 1,500 root canal treatments and 600 ceramic restorations a year, many of them on teeth that had already been given up on elsewhere. After her degree and doctorate in Freiburg, she completed the Endodontics Curriculum at the University of Pennsylvania as the top of her class and her Master of Science in Endodontics with the highest grade. She co-led her parents’ practice for around ten years before taking over the Zahnlounge in 2026.

What sets her apart, beyond precision, is her eye for the whole: a pronounced aesthetic sense that always sees teeth in the context of the face, never in isolation. Complemented by functional diagnostics, the interplay of teeth, muscles and jaw joint.

New to the team

Dr. med. dent. Lion Vogel

Dentist

Studied at the Charité Berlin, graduating top of his class, with a doctorate on digital self-help for dental anxiety, awarded the Hufeland Dissertation Prize. Works minimally invasively with microscope, caries infiltration and composite, from root canal treatment to the digital crown. And gladly with people who would rather not see a dentist.

Dental Hygienist (dipl. HF)

Trained at Careum Zürich, previously a dental assistant. Responsible for dental hygiene and periodontal assessment, with a touch patients describe as feather-light. Thinks of dental hygiene and dentistry as one, rather than keeping them apart.

Leen Itani

Dental Assistant (EFZ) · training to become a dental hygienist

Trained in Zürich, and since 2025 on her way to becoming a dental hygienist alongside her work. Anyone who meets her at the chair quickly sees why: she greets every person warmly, positively and with a smile that is contagious.

Trained in Zürich. Digital impressions, X-rays and a chairside assistance that makes even complex treatments feel easy. Sitting next to her, you notice one thing above all: calm.

Dental Assistant

Trained in Germany, where she worked in dentistry for more than ten years, in Switzerland since 2020. Experienced in prophylaxis and in assisting with surgical procedures, and the team’s all-rounder: reliable, wherever she is needed.

Practice management

Nikolaos Baltsios

Responsible for everything that does not happen at the chair: processes, appointments, the experience from the first call to the invoice, and the digitalisation of the practice. An economist with experience in corporate banking, venture capital and private equity as well as in digital entrepreneurship. Makes sure Dr. Kleinert-Baltsios can focus entirely on dentistry and the wellbeing of her patients.

Advisory board

Dr. Jan Kleinert and Iwona Czerwinska-Kleinert

Dominika’s parents built dental practices for more than thirty years, he as an oral surgeon, she in paediatric dentistry. Today they accompany the Zahnlounge as an advisory board: with experience that cannot be learned, only gathered.

We speak German, English, French, Polish, Turkish, Albanian, Arabic and Spanish.
